Rosemary was born in Chapel Hill, NC and loves the Triangle area. She and her family have been members at FBC since 2001 and she grew up learning from the staff she now is delighted to work alongside. Having always enjoyed organizing and paperwork she is excited to use her gifts to serve the church.
Susan was born in Winston-Salem, NC, and graduated with a degree in mathematics from Guilford College in Greensboro. She is a retired high school math teacher (taught 30 years, 27 of those at Northern High School). She came to FBC Durham in 1976 and is currently serving as Worship Assistant, member of the Worship Choir, Director of Handbell choirs, and BFL teacher (1 year olds). She is married to Kenny Browning and has three sons who all grew up at FBC: Chuck, John, and Joe. They also have three grandsons: CJ, Jack, and Patrick.
Paul was born in Rock Hill, SC, and “reborn” at First Baptist Church of Rock Hill. He was educated at Mars Hill College and the University of Georgia and worked in a variety of positions, primarily social services and church maintenance. Paul is blessed with a God-honoring wife, Ali; son, Eric; daughter-in-law, Kimberly; and grandsons, Elijah and Sebastian.
Rufus was born in North Carolina, and attended Livingstone College. He married Rhonda Powell in 1991. Rufus started working at FBC Durham in October of 1995.
Ashley is originally from Louisiana, where she spent the first half of her childhood before her family moved to Monroe, NC. She graduated from North Greenville College in 1999. She and her husband Jonathan were married in May of 2002, and have one daughter, Loralye (2012). Ashley has enjoyed serving at FBC Durham since 2002.
Tom is a native of Durham, NC. He graduated from NC State with a degree in Applied Mathematics and from Wake Forest University with a Master of Business Administration. He retired from Verizon in 2003 and began working at FBC Durham in 2008. Tom serves as the Administrative Assistant to the Senior Pastor. He and his beautiful wife Tina live in Northern Durham County.
Lucas was raised in Louisiana. In 2011, he received a degree from Louisiana College in Christian Studies. After graduating, he pursued a Master of Arts at Caskey School of Divinity before transferring to Southeastern Seminary in 2014. While at Caskey, his mentor, Dr. Charles Quarles, provided to him a Graduate Assistant position in order to serve as a college instructor for the course “Introduction to the Christian Faith,” which revealed his passion for college ministry. Lucas desires to fulfill the charge of the Apostle Paul in Galatians 6:12 and 2 Timothy 2:15.
Alex is from Alpharetta, GA and is currently serving as the International Connections Ministry intern. He is studying International Church Planting at Southeastern and when he graduates wants to serve as a missionary to unreached people groups in another country.
Jared was born in Texas, but would tell you he’s from Boiling Springs, SC where he spent most of his childhood. He recently married Victoria in January 2015, who is also from SC. Jared graduated from North Greenville University in December 2009 with a Media Ministry Bachelor’s degree, and he is now pursuing an M.Div. in International Church Planting at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Victoria works as an emergency room nurse at a local hospital, and they have one retriever/lab mixed puppy-child named Jackson.
