WOMEN’S FELLOWSHIP

The Women’s Ministry invites the ladies of FBC to come focus on “The Promise of Christ” on Thursday, December 7, from 7:00-9:00pm in Morgan Hall. Anne Harford will be sharing from the Book of Ruth. Elizabeth Cooper will be sharing about her ministry outreach to the Gujarati people, and we will share in worship as we sing songs of Jesus’ birth.  We will be collecting ornaments for the Cooper’s ministry. If you feel led, please bring an ornament that we may send as a gift to the Gujarati people. We are looking for flat, gospel-centered ornaments that could be hung either from a tree or a wall (for those who do not have a tree).  Please bring a dessert to share.

We will also have a specially called Members’ Meeting on Sunday, December 17 at the conclusion of our morning worship service to vote on the elder nominated at our recent November Members’ Meeting.  If there is any biblical reason that would disqualify anyone of the nominees from serving, please discuss the concern with the specific nominee first, then, if necessary, communicate the concern to the elders.

OPPORTUNITY TO GIVE TO THE LOTTIE MOON CHRISTMAS OFFERING

The International Mission Board is currently conducting its Christmas emphasis for the Lottie Moon Offering. Every dollar that is given to the Lottie Moon Offering goes directly to support IMB missionaries. FBC currently has five family units serving overseas with the IMB and they depend greatly on this annual offering. FBC Durham’s goal is $150,000. Visit the website: www.imb.org and begin to pray about how God will lead you to give this year. To contribute to this fund, make your check payable to “First Baptist Church” and write “Lottie Moon Missions” in the memo line or give online through your First Durham Connection account, choosing the “Lottie Moon Missions” fund option.
