Haiti - What Can We Do?

Dear FBC Family,

Recovery and Rebuilding efforts in Haiti will continue for a considerable time to come. Currently, we are awaiting a report back from a representative sent to survey the needs in 3 different areas. In the days to come FBC leadership will determine which areas FBC relief teams will best be used. At that time we will begin to make plans to send teams in the near future.

As of now, FBC has contributed $31,237.67 towards Haiti's relief. These funds have been used directly on the field to sustain the mission hospital in Cayes Jacmel where FBC has sent teams and worked for the past 7 years. (Photos of damage to right were taken in Cayes Jacmel.) We have also purchased needed medical supplies, orthopedic supplies such as crutches and braces, and medicines badly needed by the wounded. Many of you have purchased and donated tarpaulins for shelter in tent cities. These are on-going needs. Your contributions and prayers are making a difference in the personal lives of suffering Haitians.

The January 12th earthquake in Haiti devastated a nation. It devastated a people. Our minds struggle to comprehend the level of destruction, the level of suffering, the level of chaos. (Click HERE for photos). Yet, encouraging reports are emerging of many Haitians turning to Christ. God is using His church in Haiti to draw many to Himself.

PRAY

  1. For the rebuilding of a nation, the healing of a people, and the harvest happening.
  2. Greater access and on-site logistics for the many volunteers ready to go.
  3. That as we and others go they can share Jesus, the bread of life and the living water.

GIVE

Give to the Haiti Relief fund through FBC. Needs will continue with health care, clean-up, and rebuilding efforts, as well as mission teams to come.
