Disaster Relief Training Opportunity

Missionary Need 

FBC is aware of a missionary in need of a reliable car for their "home" assignment. If you have a good car that is nearly free or certainly less than $5000.00 please let Tom Knight in the church office know.  The missionary will be in our area around the beginning of August.

 

Summer Sizzle Workshop

On Saturday, May 19, from 10:30am to 1:30pm, Pastor Jerome Gay of Vision Church in Raleigh, NC www.visionchurchrdu.org is coming to share with us "The Myths, the Message and the Mission of inner city outreach."  Come be a part of this informative workshop as we strengthen our ministry to the 27701 and surrounding community.  If you are interested in attending please RSVP by Wednesday, May 16 by calling Matthew Hodges at 919-688-7308, ext. 26.

 

Vacation Bible School

FBC's 2012 VBS,  AMAZING WONDERS AVIATION, Encountering God's Awesome Power, will be held Monday, June 25 - Friday, June 29 from 9:00am until 12:00 Noon and we need YOU!  There are many areas of service to choose from and you may sign-up to help in your BFL class, by CLICKING HERE, or by contacting Susan Fisher at 919-967-0476 or on MemberHub.

 

International Friends Interim Leader

International Friends is looking for help on Tuesday mornings from 9:30am to 11:30am for the fall semester: early September - early December, 2012. This ministry needs a volunteer interim leader to help organize/coordinate, and teachers for English and craft classes. Paid nursery help is also needed ($9/hour). Caring Center Update 

A HUGE THANK YOU!!!  The Caring Center at FBC wants to thank everyone who has responded to our requests for help.  We currently have all of our necessary shifts covered and are extremely grateful for your service to this ministry.  There are still several ways that you can be involved.  The Caring Center will always have needs, but the most pressing are:  1)"as needed" substitutes for Friday/Saturday shifts, 2)magazines, 3)adult-size clip hangers, 4)clear containers/bins--any size, 5)Sharpie markers--any color/type, and 6)men's shoes--dire need.  Please contact Jayme Ung or Kelly Pendergraft on MemberHub for more information.  Donations can be left outside the Caring Center door in the basement or placed in the drop bin.

 

NC Baptist Men

NC Baptist Men are in need of a married couple to volunteer with the mobile medical/dental ministry.  This couple needs to be available to drive the mobile dental units and serve as hosts at dental clinics throughout North Carolina.  A CDL license with air brake endorsement is required to drive the Bluebird Bus and International Truck. Volunteers are needed from one day clinics up to ten days at a time.  On the job training is provided.  A medical or dental background is not required.  Expenses are reimbursed. Worship Musicians Needed!

If you play a musical instrument and would like to get involved in the Corporate Worship Ministry Team, please contact Eric Campbell at 919.688-7308, ext. 30 or eric.campbell@fbcdurham.org.  We especially need violinists, drummers, guitarists (electric and acoustic), bass players, and auxiliary percussionists for Sunday mornings. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!  (Psalm 150:6)

 

Furniture Donations Needed for the International Connections Ministry Team

Do you have used furniture that you would like to donate to the International Connections Ministry of FBC Durham?  David Batchelor will be accepting furniture donations throughout the coming months to be used for incoming international students.  If you are interested in donating used furniture, please contact David on MemberHub to arrange a time for him to pick up your donated furniture.  When you call or email David, please leave your name, address, and phone number so that he can return your call and coordinate a pick-up time.  This furniture will be used to deepen our relationship with our international connections as well as provide an opportunity to proclaim the gospel.
