This Sunday morning, August 18, our guest speaker will be Dr. Danny Akin, President of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and Professor of Preaching and Theology. He has served as a professor and faculty member at Criswell College, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Danny and Charlotte, his wife of forty-one years, have four sons and twelve grandchildren.

HOME FELLOWSHIPS LAUNCH NEXT WEEK
Please save the date for our Home Fellowships Launch on Sunday, August 25, at 6:00pm in the Sanctuary, followed by dessert afterwards. Regardless of how long you have participated in our Home Fellowships ministry, you will not want to miss this event. We will reiterate our vision of the HF ministry, explain what it is and how one can get involved, pray for the coming year, and give a brief overview of the various groups. The event will conclude with LocoPops. You will want to make every effort to attend.

FINANCIAL PEACE UNIVERSITY
FBC is offering a 9-week Financial Peace University class in the fall. There is no cost to attend the class, however if you choose to purchase materials and a workbook the cost will be $110 per person/family. The class will be held on Thursday evenings beginning September 26, from 6:00-8:00pm. The class will be led by Brice McKeel and others, and will be a great opportunity to learn practical budgeting disciplines from a biblical perspective. If interested, contact Brice McKeel. Scholarships are available.
MINISTRY NEED: INTERNATIONAL FRIENDS
International Friends meets at 9:30am on Tuesday mornings at FBC starting the first week of September. We offer English conversation, idioms, and cooking classes for international women in the area. We provide childcare for children under age 4 to enable their moms to attend class and hear about Jesus. We are also looking for someone to teach a class on American history, traditions, and culture. CHILDREN’S MINISTRY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
We are now only a few weeks from launching our Fall Children’s Ministry activities, and we need your help! We have several openings for volunteers that need to be filled before September. All areas of the Children’s Ministry have needs: Nursery, Preschool & Kids BFL, Wednesday Night activities, and Extended Care during the service.
