HOME FELLOWSHIPS HOSTS’ & LEADERS’ MEETING

There will be a meeting Wednesday evening, August 22, at 6:30pm in Room 342 for those serving as Home Fellowships Hosts and Leaders. We’ll discuss the upcoming 2018-19 year and prepare for the HF Launch.  We look forward to seeing you there!  No adult bible study on Wednesday evening, August 22.

HOME FELLOWSHIPS LAUNCH IN TWO WEEKS

Please save the date for our Home Fellowships Launch on Sunday, August 26, at 6:00pm in the Sanctuary, followed by dessert afterwards. Regardless of how long you have participated in our HF ministry, you will not want to miss this event. We will reiterate our vision for the HF ministry, explain what it is and how one can get involved, pray for this coming year, and give a brief overview of the various homes. The event will conclude with an opportunity to enjoy fellowship and tasty Locopops as we dismiss. You’ll want to make every effort to attend.

MEN’S RETREAT – EARLY REGISTRATION

Please plan to join us for the men’s retreat on November 2-3 at Caraway Conference Center in Asheboro, NC. This is always a great event to fellowship with other men, study and apply God’s word together, and deepen our friendships with one another. Register early and receive a discounted rate of $75 per person!  Beginning September 1 the cost will increase to $95 per person.  The registration cost includes on-site meals and lodging.

EARLY COMMITMENT GATHERINGS

The church body recently approved an effort to renovate portions of our church building, and the elders are grateful for your enthusiasm and investment in the project thus far. We’re looking forward to seeing how the Lord will grow us all in faith during the months ahead as we prayerfully consider how to sacrificially give toward this endeavor. While every member will have the opportunity to express ways they can use their time, energy and resources as the project progresses, we’re eager to hear from individuals who would be willing to exercise leadership in the area of sacrificial giving, making their financial commitment ahead of the rest of the congregation. If you’re interested in leading out in this way, we’d love to hear from you! Please contact the church office by emailing finance@fbcdurham.org so we can include you in an upcoming early commitment gathering.

CHILDREN’S MARTIAL ARTS CLASS

Registration is now open for the fall semester of the FBC children’s martial arts class. Classes begin Monday, September 17, and are every Monday and Thursday from 5:30 – 6:15pm in the Upper Room. Children ages 6-9 are welcome as beginners. For more information contact Walter Lee.
