This class is an introduction to the doctrines of salvation, the church, and last things. God is redeeming a people unto Himself through the person and work of Christ, in accordance with his eternal plan. God’s people comprise the church, which includes both all the redeemed of all the ages and local congregations that gather together for worship, witness, and ministry. Local churches regularly observe the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Because of the effects of sin, every person will one day die and pass into the next life. History is moving to a final conclusion when God will judge every person who has ever lived and consummate the final redemption accomplished by Christ.

In this class, we will learn about:

  • God’s eternal plan of salvation
  • The application of salvation to individuals
  • The nature and purpose of the church
  • The ordinances and officers of the church
  • Death and the afterlife
  • The millennium, second coming, and final judgment
  • The final redemption of the created order
