The gospel of John is written to prove that Jesus was the Messiah and that by believing in Him we might be saved from our sins and have eternal life. It starts, like Genesis with ‘In the beginning’ and ends with eye witness accounts of His rising from the dead. The first section of the gospel describes Jesus’ public ministry and has seven sections. The second section is devoted to the Passover weekend when Jesus gave His life for the world. What you believe about this book and its main character matters for all eternity.
