Guidelines for Reopening

April 30 – Video Update from Andy Davis & the Elders

________________

FBC Family,

The elders and staff have been praying for you throughout the week and have been discussing how best to faithfully lead our church family through this unique time. Through June 3, we will not be having any churchwide activities, ministries, or worship services in the church building as we observe important guidelines in an effort to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

In the interest of public safety, and as a display of love of neighbor, the elders have made the following decisions:

No Public Gatherings Through June 3

  • Sunday morning services are cancelled through June 3. We will not gather at FBC Durham on Sundays for worship or Bible For Life. We will have a live-stream of Biblical teaching and worship at 10:30am available here:  https://www.fbcdurham.org/live/
  • Home Fellowships are canceled through June 3. Our Home Fellowships will not meet physically, but we encourage you to gather virtually for prayer and fellowship on Sunday evenings as you’re able. Feel free to use whatever platform best suits your home fellowship (Facebook messenger, Zoom, Uberconference.com, Google Hangouts, etc.).
  • All Wednesday evening activities are canceled through June 3. We will not gather at FBC Durham on Wednesdays for Bible study, but we’re excited to share that Andy Davis will have a video Bible study series walking through themes related to his upcoming book on Heavenly Memories. Visit www.vimeo.com/fbcdurham at 6:30pm on Wednesday evenings.
  • All weekday activities are canceled through June 3. All activities that typically meet at FBC’s building, including International Friends, Co-op, Thursday Men’s Bible study, and other auxiliary activities are canceled during this time.

Know that we are continuing to pray for you and would encourage you to take every precaution available to reduce your exposure to this virus. Thank you for your ongoing concern and support as we all walk through this together. Though the days ahead are unknown to us, they are well known to the God we serve. In times of uncertainty, let’s look to Him in faith to remove our fear, calm our worries, and lovingly guide us through as He always does so faithfully.

With Great Joy,

FBC Elders and Staff
